Our Soap Products & Ingredients
Our formulas are designed with a very long shelf life and are sold in their final form in multi-use concentrate. The ingredients we use are chosen for the traceability to the source. A few of the common certifications that our ingredients hold are USDA Organic, VEGECERT, Non-GMO, and COR Kosher. Our main ingredient and base oil is made at a family run sunflower farm in Minnesota. It is grown, pressed, bottled, and shipped directly to us from the people who tend to the land and grow the plant from seed. All of our scented products are crafted using plant essential oils. Listing of ingredients is fully disclosed on our website and every fully packaged product. We have made an easy to read format that acknowledges the common name, scientific name, and any third-party certifications an ingredient holds. It's important to our founders and staff to strengthen the labeling practices for the soap and cleaner industries.
A Soapy Start
Striving for a 100% nontoxic lifestyle led to years of thorough research. Alex and Jason found the "dirty little secret" of the commercial cosmetic and cleaning products industries. Due to the lack of regulation on ingredients, hundreds of toxins are entering our bodies daily. Over time the buildup of toxic chemicals had the potential to cause future health problems for us and everyone we knew. Needing to make a change, they listed all the ingredients that are known to be harmful. This list was brought to every store in the Denton area and a "sea of soap bottles" was examined. Not one product was void of the chemicals they deemed unacceptable. Alex and Jason started crafting the first soap in their tiny apartment kitchen. The product formulas were perfected through old fashioned trial, error, testing on themselves and occasional comments from loyal friends. A few bottles of this homemade soap found its way into the hands of the community. Everyone brought raving feedback and started asking to buy some. Alex and Jason started selling at a local farmers market as Lion Bear Naked Soap Co.
